Consequence of Defect

the welds on a bracket which attaches the tilt- telescoping steering column to the firewall under the dash are defective and could fail.

Corrective Action

failure of the attachment bracket can result in a lossof steering control and a possible vehicle accident.

Recall Notes

a new, improved bracket will be installed on all affected units.

the power steering pump is improperly calibrated and has insufficient power steering fluid flow for the operation of the steering system.

Corrective Action

insufficient fluid flow to the steering system can resultin increased steering effort, loss of steering control, and a possible accident.

Recall Notes

correct the calibration of the power steering pump.
